Any establishment within the United Kingdom that sells alcohol must be an Alcohol Personal License Holder. The Licensing Authority are the only licensing body in the United Kingdom that regulates the sale and consumption of alcohol, and which award the test.

By taking this course, you will gain an overview of UK alcohol licensing laws and learn the importance of promoting the four key licensing objectives covered by the three main types of license. You will also develop your understanding of the legal duties associated with being a personal licence holder and what steps to take when dealing with the licensing authorities.

It is compulsory for those working in all licensed premises to know the process in relation to Temporary Event Notices and mandatory conditions. You will also receive the information you need in relation to objections, fees and hearings.

You will also learn, in detail, the significant issue of ‘age verification’, covering areas such as the licensing law and best practice in how these apply to children and under 18s.

The course concludes with the responsibilities outlined in relation to retail alcohol (which includes drinking guidelines) and how to avoid and reduce conflict.
